Describe the Von Neumann design of a Stored Program Computer

In 1951 Von Neumann and his team proposed the design of a stored program computer. According to his design, a sequence of instructions (called a program) and the data are stored in the memory of the computer. The computer reads the instructions one by one and executes these instructions to perform different operations on data. It is very simple design and of general-purpose. The computers are based on this design is called stored program machine. Today modern digital computers are based on Von Neumann design.
